Well, I think my opinion here isn't of much relevance; although I
did define several roles, only one SMTP server does all the work
for me. From that perspective I have defined 'identities' and not
really 'roles'.
Nevertheless...
Marc, a quick work around to your situation/problem, having to
deal with 3 identities x 3 SMTP servers, is to change the From
field contents at compose time.
So, say eg. you are using your home role (in your context, your
home SMTP server), then start composing a bussiness message, fill
in the To: with your boss/colleague/client's address as well as
the From: with your own work address. At least my server doesn't
care who I 'pretend' to be in the From: (only my IP matters
here.)
Life gets easier if you make the From: field always visible in
the compose window (Admin -> Preferences -> Advanced -> Compose
-> Headers:) and maintain your own addresses in the aliases file.
Have I missed some point, have you got mine?
Regards to everyone,
Rui
